Eureka! Mentors’ Meet at IIT Bombay

 The top-50 teams of Eureka! ‘09 will meet mentors on 13th December on the  IIT-Bombay campus, who will guide them in refining their business model. During this meet, the teams will have the opportunity to network with leading industry professionals. The teams have been receiving online mentoring all this while but what makes this mentors’ meet special is the fact that these top 50 teams from different geographical locations will all be present  at one location to directly talk to mentors’ who are industry experts in different sectors.
About Eureka! ‘09:
It’s not a routine business plan competition, wherein people submit their business plans and take away the prize money. It is an entrepreneur’s journey from an executive summary to an actual start-up.
The competition aims at generating entrepreneurs who lead successful ventures. Participants of the competition receive intensive mentoring, advice and talks from existing successful entrepreneurs which assist the participants in their venture of starting-up.
As an incentive for Eureka! participants this year, Applied Materials is providing a research lab worth 7.5 million USD  for  free, to those entrants who will be incubated.
Winners of Eureka! will get a chance to represent India at the Intel-UC Berkeley Entrepreneurship Challenge, sponsored by Intel.

About the Mentorship Sessions and the Finalists:
The Mentorship Sessions are an integral part of Eureka! where we view the competition as a journey and try to help the teams at different stages during their  preparation for the finals.

The Mentoring Sessions will be conducted in 4 slots with a morning session (0930 hrs-1130hrs) and an afternoon session (1330 hrs-1530 hrs).

Of the top 50 finalists, numerous entries are from Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune.

There is also an entry in the top-50 from USA, the competition has definitely made its presence felt globally.

With Business plans ranging from using lasers for Power Generation to improving the present coffee machine, these plans will now be further streamlined by the participants through the assistance of the mentors.
As for the mentors, we have experts from different fields,namely director of Mumbai International Airport Mr.Ganapathy Subramaniam,Venki Nishtala who is the technical head of Rediff ,Vishal Gondal ,Founder and CEO of Indiagames amongst the 50+ mentors who will be on the IIT Bombay campus on 13th December to directly interact with the top 50 teams and share with them what they think about their respective Business Plans.
